Several religious cultures teach the practice of polygamy between lovers & married couples, but it’s usually one man marrying multiple women in each relationship. Hinduism, islam, mormonism & others are examples. Although there hasn’t been a culture since the ancient empires, that teaches about the type of polygamy with one woman marrying multiple men. Most individuals that live in poverty (that are poor and cannot afford a traditional relationship) or are simply greedy (and want more money for themselves) or require spending on other lifestyle choices (like networking), prefer to share the relationship expenses between another man or two/three other men to provide for one woman in a relationship. Instead of providing for a woman in a traditional relationship, two to three providers love the same woman in a consenting polyamorous relationship to split the bills (etc). Each man doesn’t have to provide too much income for the woman, because they each provide part of the expenses to equal the entirety that a woman requires to live; including gifts like those of anniversaries.

Genetics are also a cause of the unequal gender population. It is in some people’s genetics to only offspring male or female genders instead of both. There are individuals that only offspring females, no matter how much they tried to offspring a male, they only offspring females. Then there are others that only offspring males, because of the same genetic reasons that they lack or have a broken genetic code in their DNA resulting in developing only one gender genetic code when birthing.
